Hi Mate,

see knowones replied to ya post so thought i d offer some form of response. I spoke recently to the head bailiff of the Shoe Gary and he advised that things are slower on the shoe these days, however like any water when the fish stop getting caught so much the weights do tend to creep up, and apparently its done thirty diff 30+ fish in the last year. I m planning a sesh soon and will be taking a bucket of hemp, and maize with couple of Kilos of good bait, break em up to go further and fish half baits tipped with corn to a less than blatant spot somewhere near the fish. dont fill it all in at once and keep it topped up every few hrs, this wont go wrong mate - not rocket science but will guarentee results, fished there last season for 48 hrs and had few runs with some tidy fish out - failing that call the office for a check - google the number and u can see how many are on the lake too. tight lines mate, some of the best looking fish in the country in the shoe.

Its not that busy at the moment.

A lot of Summer Bay is closed because its weedy! But then its been full of small male fish.

This change in weather will move them back out of there. Get the timing right and you could have a bumper haul, at the moment though there is a load of natural in their, so although you can get them feeding, lots are scratching for a bite.

Cheers for the info guys, also on location what are the fish like ? do they follow the wind or back off it ? do they find a quite area or is it still like the old days when they move about in big shoals and show like mad and you just chase they around the lake ?

Very much like the old days. The shoals are not as big, but when they move in, they let you know they're there.
I didn't find that it had changed that much since the early 90's.

Just got back from a night at the shoe, last week seems to have been the right time... reports are that 2 blokes had 60runs between em during the week! They were fishing the mounds & the fish pushed out of summer bay when the low came in. Back in the safety of the weed down in the bay now though.
